Metronome Madness! A musical challenge of speed and accuracy

November Special Event: Metronome Madness

Announcing our November special event...Metronome Madness! Get your metronomes ready for our challenge of speed and accuracy. This month is all about keeping up with the tempo as we start preparing for our next recital at the end of the year! Each student will receive a metronome tracker to practice new song or old favorite. The goal for our students this month is to play accurately at faster speeds and learn how to use a metronome for music success!

Benefits of Practicing With A Metronome

Improving rhythm - A metronome's steady click helps you learn and improve your rhythm by marking the beat in each bar.

Maintaining a consistent tempo - A metronome helps you keep a consistent tempo so you don't speed up or slow down.

Slowing down and practicing the whole piece - A metronome can help you focus on parts you aren't playing fluently, precisely, or equally.

Building speed - A metronome can help you gradually increase your speed in small increments.

Reducing the tendency to rush - A metronome can help you gradually speed up and slow down.

Giving a sense of progress - A metronome can help you see how far you've come and what areas still need work.

Building confidence - A metronome can help you build confidence by showing you how far you've come.

Bringing greater awareness to the music - A metronome can help you become more aware of the music you're playing.

Manipulating the beat - Once you have a strong sense of time, you can start to manipulate the beat.

NOVEMBER STUDENT SPOTLIGHT -   ADELINE P.

Adeline has been playing piano for the past year. She is in 3rd grade this year. Adeline just started playing Level 2A. She has a great practice routine and practices for her siblings and family members. Adeline completed all of the challenges in Pump-kin Up The Practice by herself without help! Adeline’s piano goal is to learn every song in her Disney book, no matter how difficult they are. She is making great progress towards her goal! We are so excited to hear Adeline perform soon. Congratulations Adeline, we are so proud of your musicianship!
